Why I Love America

The Second Post — About Gaslighting

In this article I will talk about how I feel about News/Opinion headline gaslighting. It has become a large problem in this country, I personally am vehemently against it, as it is the sole reason my mother has been brainwashed by Mainstream news media.

I start with this link, an MSNBC Opinion Article:

Jackie Robinson is the latest victim of Donald Trump’s anti-DEI madness

It references this article:

Marines with Skin Condition Affecting Mostly Black Men Could Now Be Booted Under New Policy | Military.com

The US Marine Corp issued guidance updating portions of the standards for health and uniform compliance. This guidance appears to be part of an effort to apply uniform standards across the Military. Part of this guidance involves separation from the Military if unresolveable issues concerning a condition that mostly african-american descended men suffer from. It is called pseudofolliculitis barbae, or PFB.

According to the article:

The “interim guidance” issued Thursday gives military health care providers 90 days to reevaluate Marines diagnosed with pseudofolliculitis barbae, or PFB. If they don’t recover based on a four-phase treatment program outlined in the message, have to remain on a shaving waiver for more than a year, and a commander deems it fit, the Corps can administratively separate them “due to incompatibility with service,” according to the message.

I feel this portion has been taken and gaslit by this MSNBC Opinion Columnist.

My take on this —

First — The Military exists to protect the Sovereignty of our country. It is there for when the impossible happens and we need to engage in combat that may be physically taxing. Physical fitness standards should apply to all in the Military. If we consider the worst-case scenario — We have been invaded and are defending our home soil — all those that are fit have fought and died — only remaining are those who have not been asked to maintain fitness, and after those weaklings have been killed, we have lost our Country. The Military isn’t just another job like Walmart or IBM. It is the last line of defense for this country as we know it. We need our best. That includes not only physical fitness but mental discipline. in order to defeat our enemies, our military needs to be committed, through and through, to that goal. That means keeping yourself fit, staying disciplined, and maintaining personal grooming to show you are serious about your role.

As far as the PFB — It was obvious to me that the guidance was across the board in intend – to standardize process for health condition, including processes for exemptions and exceptions. The bottom line is we need a healthy military and if there are conditions that increase risk of health issues, then perhaps the Military is not for you.

This condition is an example of many health conditions that are possibly the reason for a service member to not be a good fit to serve. It does not mean they are not patriots or good-hearted. I am 52 and 250 pounds — this late in life I would absolutely LOVE to serve in the Military, but I would not be able to successfully defend this country. Yes, I could be at a desk, but what happens when I’m the last person?

The article also mentions if the service member is, at the end of this process, separated — it would be an HONORABLE discharge.

The Gaslighting I see in simply the article title, claiming this is racist, really pisses me off. You are taking 90/10 issue and making it front page news. Sound like something similar (trans?)???

Jackie Robinson is the latest victim of Donald Trump’s anti-DEI madness

Jackie Robinson died before I was born, 1972. Couldn’t think of anyone living to use to gaslight the public?

GIVE ME A BREAK.

Just because a health issue happens to affect a certain ethnic group — I”m sure there are MANY health issues that tend to favor certain ethnic groups — but it does not make ANYONE RACIST.

“Racist” — this is a word I want to see stop being used.

I’m sick and tired of all the shallow thinking, assuming everything is racist, it’s not all about YOU – think deeper.

PFB-affected, trans, LGBTQwhatever — everyone has exceptions to everything. Rules that can apply 100% fairly and uniformly don’t exist, due to the diversity in our species. The only rational and common-sense method to this is to apply fair rules and account for the exceptions. There is no need to highlight the exceptions as being unfairly treated — not everything in life is fair and not everyone is a good fit for every job.

It’s not rational to assume otherwise. Life is grey.

Think less shallowly.
